CARLUKE and Law councillor Pat Lee has left the SNP and joined Solidarity Scotland.

He has announced that he resigned the party whip on Wednesday evening.

“I will remain as a councillor for Clydesdale West and continue to serve the constituents to the best of my abilities, then stand for re-election as a Solidarity candidate in the council elections 2017.” he said.

He said he had made the decision after much thought and discussion.

I still support an independent Scotland and will continue to fight to that end,” he said.
