FOR this year alone, the motto of one very popular Lanark event will be: Charity begins at home.

That event is the annual Lanark Rotary Club Sportsman’s Dinner which, for decades, has provided an annual boost via its proceeds to several charities, from local to international causes.

However, the 2013 event, at Ravenstruther Hall on March 8, will see every penny raised going to a Lanark sister organisation of the Rotary’s – the Cargill Club.

For full details, see this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette.
