A CLYDESDALE undertaker has thanked South Lanarkshire Council as the new extension to Carnwath Cemetery is now ready.
Carstairs-based Ian Brown (81) had been warning for years about the lack of lairs at the cemetery.
However, now that work has been completed he is delighted, and expects that this will solve the problem for many years to come.
He said: “It has been a long haul to get the cemetery extended but it’s now ready and has been turfed.
“I would like to thank the council for getting the extension up and running because it was very important to get it finished.
