MEMBERS of Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes are celebrating after winning the Scottish Amateur Flute Band Associations spring contest in Troon.

In the march category, conductor Lex McDowell chose to play the Strauss march Radestky. Carluke Primrose won the section with 92 points.

And in the own choice section, they performed Khachaturian’s Lezghinka from the Gayaneh Ballet and then Rienzi Overture by Wagner.

Adjudicator Hughina Naylor again awarded the Primrose first place.
