Pupils from Carluke High have handed over cheques totalling £8000 to various charities thanks to a fundraising initiative.

A total of £8000 was raised by the school through the work of the Dinamite fundraising team.

The school has been busy in recent weeks distributing cheques to various charities.

Carluke High teacher Joyce McIntyre said: “It has been an extraordinary achievement since the annual charity show and many of the fundraising events fell victim to the severe weather and had to be cancelled.

“That being said, to raise £8000 is still a massive achievement for the pupils.

“The charities which will benefit from the money are very deserving of it and we hope to raise even more this time around. We just hope the weather doesn’t cause havoc with our fundraising this time!”
