INCREASED entries and a rise in the number of visitors contributed to the success of Abington Show on Saturday and the organisers were more than happy with the day.
The prestigious sheep section attracted entries from as far away as Argyll and the Borders, with record entries for the blackface and Texel sheep in particular.
Chairman Kenny Johnstone explained: “This event used to be confined to our own area but is now an open show which brought entries from all over and the standard was high. More entries also brought more interest.
“I think this is one of the best Abington Shows we’ve ever had.”
