DRIVERS heading to and from Douglas face a detour this week with roadworks taking place on the A70.
The closure, from Hyndford Bridge right to the B7078 Millbank Roundabout, came into force at 7am on Monday and is expected to last about a week.
“This is to allow for essential resurfacing to take place,” said a spokesperson for South Lanarkshire Council. “The alternative route will be via the A70, B7078, A702 and A73 with diversion signing in place.”
Further roadworks are planned for the week beginning April 23, with the A70 at that time closing from the B7078 Junction to B743 Muirkirk.
