A LANARK jeweller will be rubbing shoulders with the stars at this year's Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards.
Vivien Johnston (32) has been nominated for the Ultimate Green Queen Award at the ceremony, which will be held at the Banqueting House in Whitehall.
She has been nominated for her work in creating jewellery using stones sourced from fair trading, co-operative mines with eco sustainability.
She said: "Obviously it's very exciting to be nominated for such an award.
''Sometimes I feel a bit isolated because I'm working on my own a lot of the time so it's nice to be recognised in this way.
"It's an uphill struggle. When I first started I didn't even think there was a market for ethical jewellery but thought that customers should have a choice.
"Hopefully, the jewellery industry is taking notice and putting the issue at the top of the agenda."
