Would you be interested in becoming involved in creating an orchard in Kirkfieldbank?

As the village tour by Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership continues on Saturday, that is one of the questions local people will be asked.

Central Scotland Forest Trust want to hear local views on proposals to regenerate an orchard at a site in Kirkfieldbank and to find out if and how people would like to be involved in helping to create or maintain the orchard.

Everyone is invited to drop in to Kirkfieldbank’s Community Hall between 2pm and 4pm to find out more about the site.

Kirsten Robb, community engagement officer for CAVLP, said: “The remnant trees on the site suggest that there was an orchard here in previous times and we would be interested to find out what local people know about its history.”
