SCOTTISH tenor Martin Aelred is the star attraction at next month’s Music in Lanark concert.
Martin began his musical career as a songwriter in popular music but just four years ago he first heard a piece from La Boheme and was sold on opera.
He retrained in London and Rome. He also studied classical and Spanish guitar with which he can accompany his repertoire of operatic arias.
He has appeared before the Dalai Lama and Prince Charles, sung at the United Nations in New York and performed before sell-out audiences in the Usher Hall and Glasgow City Halls.
Martin Aelred will perform at the Music in Lanark concert on March 1 at the New Lanark Institute, starting at 7.45pm.
Tickets cost £10 (£1 for people of school age) and are available from Tariq’s, Playful Greetings, New Lanark Gift Shop or from the Music in Lanark website.
