LOCAL astronomers will be hoping for clear skies across Clydesdale as this year’s Stargazing Live event takes place.

The cross-country event will see astronomers looking to study the night-sky with a little help from the BBC show of the same name, presented by Professor Brian Cox and Dara O’Briain.

In Clydesdale, New Lanark’s Roof Garden is the setting for the official Stargazing Live event with members of Clydesdale Astronomical Society bringing along telescopes on the night to allow people to inspect the sky closely.

Last year’s event saw over 200 people go along and once again this year there will be plenty of fun for all the family.

Stargazing Live takes place at New Lanark’s Roof Garden on Saturday, January 11, from 5pm to 7.30pm. Tickets are £4 on the night.
