BIGGAR actor James Mackenzie is gearing up for the role of his life as tragic ex-Celtic and Scotland goalie John Thomson, known as the Prince of Goalkeepers.

James, who stars as Raven in the CBBC series, will be at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow from September 5 to 10, playing the goalie who tragically died after an accidental collision in an Old Firm match Ibrox.

For James (32) playing such a legendary and tragic figure in the history of Scottish football was a difficult task – especially as he isn’t a football fan.
