PREPARATIONS are now well underway for Clydesdale’s first ever rock and metal festival which is due to take place at the end of the month.

LesFest, which is taking place at Valley International Park on June 29 and 30, has really captured the hard rock fans’ imagination, with a line-up of established acts and local, unsigned talent.

Organiser Dave Ritchie said: “Primarily this was an event aimed at giving new and upcoming bands an opportunity, especially local, young Scottish bands and we think the finalised line-up combined with a few rising stars from other parts of the UK, many from this year’s Hammerfest, has all the makings of an excellent weekend.

“We are offering 27 acts over the full weekend and this fits with our ethos of providing real, live and accessible music to the community.

“We want to build an event and a brand, while offering exceptional value for money. We are 100 per cent committed to live music.

“Originally the festival was supposed to be held in Lesmahagow, hence the name, but Valley International Park is a stunningly unique location and has an indoor venue with capacity for 400 to 500 people and an additional, walled, roofed, courtyard, conservatory style area with a capacity for a further 250 people.”
