MUSIC lovers in Lanark have a treat in store as the Cantilena Festival Players, together with BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year winner Rona Wilkie head to the Royal Burgh.

The Players, together with Rona, as guest soloist will be performing in St Nicholas Hall in a concert organised by Lanark and Carluke Choral Union.

Having played last year alongside world-renowned soprano Ursula Bernard Furi, the Players are returning and Shena Fox from the Choral Union is delighted to be welcoming them back to Lanark.

She said: “Last year was the first time that the Players had come to Lanark and it was an absolutely fantastic concert and we got a lot of really good feedback.

The Cantilena Players, with Rona Wilkie as guest soloist, will be in Lanark on Tuesday, June 26 at 7.30pm. The concert is free but donations can be left at the end, with all proceeds going to the Islay Music Festival.

Places are limited and if you are interested please telephone Shena Fox on 07756 144617 or email choralunion@aol.com.
