HERE’S a REAL challenge for the Gazette’s famed history detective readers - a double wartime mystery!

This image of a World War Two sailor and his ship came to us via our faithful collector of old, interesting local photos, Charlie Todd of Thankerton.

Now, obviously, Clydesdale being totally landlocked, Charlie doesn’t come across all THAT many nautical scenes but explained how he came by these.

For more information, pick up a copy of this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette which is in the shops now.
