A LANARK woman has retired in style after spending nearly 20 years looking after the local community’s eye health.

Rita White (61), has been an optical assistant at Specsavers Lanark since the store opened in May 1994. A favourite with customers and staff, the mum-of-two has seen major changes in the industry in the last 19 years.

She said: “When I started with Specsavers there were just four members of staff so it has certainly changed – there’s a team of 19 now.”
