UNTIL the HS2 trains reach here, the fastest and cheapest way to get from Lanark to London is to get on board the Panto Club’s production of Dick Whttington at the Memorial Hall.
And, at just £8 a ticket (£6 concession) for this tonight (Friday) and Saturday’s shows, it’s a lot cheaper than going by rail AND a lot, LOT more fun.
This is the club’s 52nd annual production but there’s no sign of the company slowing down with the now traditional barrage of jokes, good, bad and some straying into Carry On territory.
This year’s cast is led by principles Robyn Taylor as Dick Whittington, Ellie Raeside as Puss, Karen Brown as Fairy, Alan Boyd as The Dame/Sarah the Cook, Frank Thorpe as Nat the Rat, Amy Sloan, the Principal Girl, as Alice Fitzwarren, Cameron Black as Alderman Fitzwarren, Ben Clark as King Neptune and Jayden Rolls as The Sultan.
For more information about the panto, pick up a copy of this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette which is out now.
