FAMILIES are being invited to view the improvements at Castlebank Park in Lanark and find out about its future plans at an open day this Saturday, September 14.
“People can wander around the park at any time but if they want a guided tour and an explanation of what we are going to do, the tour is at 2pm,” said Sylvia Russell, chairman of Lanark Community Development Trust.
Members of the public have already seen some of the improvements, such as the tree-planting by local schools and the new play area which opened this year.
Two weeks ago the new picnic area was completed, with bench tables, bins and even artificial grass to help it blend in with the park, as well as a new path from the car park.
