Kirkfield United Football Club are in the running for a payout of up to £4,000 from Tesco’s Lanark store, via its Bags of Help campaign, and are asking shoppers to back them.

“We presently have over 200 boys and girls training and playing football with the club, and we are looking to raise funds for kit and equipment to enable us to develop the training for all the kids involved,” said committee member Karen Tennant.

“Our teams are doing really well at the moment, with our 2001 team winning the West Lothian Youth Football Association County Cup last weekend.”

Shoppers can also support the Covey befriending group and Law Parish AFC.
