PLENTY of ‘shear’ delight looks guaranteed for visitors to Biggar Show, which is being held at the town’s Showfield this Saturday, July 19.

For the event – showing over 2000 top class animals including sheep, cattle, Clydesdale horses, poultry, jumping ponies and alpacas – will feature the awesome sight of four women trying to clip 1000 sheep of their fleeces in nine hours as part of a charity shearing marathon.

“It is very exciting to have this event here for the first time,” said Biggar Show president David Paterson.

“The committee members are really looking forward to seeing these ladies in action.”
