MEMBERS of Lanark and Carluke Choral Union kick off a massive two months with this year’s Christmas concert in Lanark’s St Mary’s Church this Sunday.

Entitled Star of Peace and New Birth of Hope, the concert will feature the usual mix of community carols, reading and poems.

There will also be new compositions featured by Choral Union director Philip Fox and member Julian Hodgson as well as guest organist Alan Kitchen.

It’s certainly a busy time for Choral Union members as they prepare to fly to New York in January to perform Karl Jenkins’ The Peacemakers in Carnegie Hall.

The Lanark and Carluke Choral Union Christmas concert takes place on Sunday, December 7, in St Mary’s Church in Lanark at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 and are available by calling Shena on 07790 676676 or email choralunion@aol.com.

You can also get tickets at the door on the night.
