BIGGAR restaurant the Taj Mahal has been nominated for a top industry award – and owner Aby Ullah is hoping the judging panel will Tikka chance on it at the awards ceremony.

The High Street restaurant, described as a hidden gem by the Scottish Curry Awards, has been nominated in Scotland’s Best Indian category for the Scottish Entertainment Guide Awards, which will be held at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow on Sunday, April 21.

However, competition is fierce and Aby and the rest of the Taj team are up against established names such as Mother India in Glasgow and Edinburgh’s Shezan Indian Cuisine.
